DENTAL & VISION BENEFITS
In addition to protecting your smile, dental insurance helps pay for dental care and usually includes regular checkups, cleanings and x-rays.
Studies suggest that oral diseases, such as periodontitis (gum disease), can affect other areas of your body, including your heart.
Receiving regular dental care can protect you and your family from the high cost of dental disease and surgery.
Dental Insurance – a form of health insurance designed to pay a portion of the costs associated with dental care.
- Traditional Dental Insurance (Network Plan) – you are strongly encouraged to receive services at an in-network dentist—little or no coverage may be available from a non-network dentist; the costs of services and procedures are usually shared with the insurance company (e.g. 80% by insurance company, 20% by patient); deductibles may apply for certain services; plan is subject to an annual benefit maximum
- Traditional Dental Insurance (Open PPO Plan) – able to go to any dentist you want (although you may pay less with a network dentist); the costs of services and procedures are usually shared with the insurance company (e.g. 80% by insurance company, 20% by patient); deductibles may apply for certain services; plan is subject to annual benefit maximum
- Indemnity Dental Insurance – able to go to any dentist you want; services and procures are paid up front by the consumer, who is then later reimbursed according to a set-fee schedule by the insurance company.
We work with several different carriers, including Delta Dental of South Dakota, Ameritas, and Spirit Dental. You can receive a quote and enroll online with Ameritas and Spirit Dental. Please contact us directly for rates and enrollment with Delta Dental.
Driving to work, reading news articles and watching TV are all activities that you perform every day. Your ability to do all these activities depends on your vision and eye health. Vision insurance can help you maintain your vision and also detect various health problems.
Vision Insurance – health plans designed to reduce your costs for routine preventative eye care and prescription eyewear.
Care received from an out-of-network provider may be treated as an indemnity policy, where you pay the costs up front and then submit to the insurance provider for reimbursement.
There are options when it comes to vision insurance. You can receive a quote and enroll online with VSP and Ameritas. Spirit Dental offers vision insurance as an add-on to their dental coverage.
Medicare-Eligible Clients: We do not offer every plan available in your area. Any information we provide is limited to the plans we do offer in your area. Please contact www.medicare.gov or call 1-800-Medicare to get information on all your plan options.
Did you know?
Most dental insurance companies —over 90%—have a “missing tooth clause.” With a missing tooth clause, the insurance company can deny paying to replace a tooth if that tooth was lost, extracted or removed before the policy took effect. There are 120 million Americans who are missing at least one tooth.
